The Story of 'Pennal'
The Pennal shoot, based in Mid Wales, is a must visit shoot for high bird enthusiasts. It has fast become one of the most talked about shoots in the UK as it delivers high quality driven Pheasants and Partridges along with top class hospitality.

This really is a shoot for those who are looking to test themselves on some of the best birds in the UK. Drives such as Humble Pie and Turbo have already gained fame as some of the most testing drives that guns are likely to come across. Days at Pennal work brilliantly with a back to back day at Dyfi Falls, one of our other shoots.

Birds are shown from the tops of incredibly mountainous terrain. The shoot makes use of natural cover; heather, rushes, bracken and conifer trees to present a mix of Pheasants and Partridges. The birds are flushed from high above the guns resulting in incredibly difficult shooting.
Shoot Day Itinerary
Host - Thomas Mitchell-Pluck
A normal day at Pennal starts at 9am in our shoot lodge for tea/coffee and a greeting from your host. We generally move off around 9:30am after drawing pegs. We have 2 drives and stop for elevenses and then have a minimum of two further drives which always results in a full days sport - something we pride ourselves on this is then followed by either a 2 course meal or an afternoon tea.
The food at Pennal is fabulous. Our in house chef provides our guests with sumptuous meals and we can cater for any specific dietary requirements of teams or individuals. Elevenses are taken in the field and much of the food is cooked in front of our guests for that extra special touch.

We welcome teams from around the country, and indeed overseas, and can advise on or arrange local accommodation as required. We are also happy to arrange loaders, instructors, cartridges, gun hire and transport – please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.​
